May prayer and fasting initiative plus updated prayer pointers

As part of our ongoing daily and weekly prayer initiative, we'll be fasting throughout the month of May 2017. We've itemised the areas of focus below. Follow this link to see how to join our daily and weekly prayer meetings.

A. Church growth through revival:

Acts 5:12-16 12 And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch. 13 Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly. 14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. 16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

  • Anointed leaders
  • Oneness among the Church
  • Multitudes being added to the Lord
  • Great favour with outsiders
  • Mighty signs and wonders
  • Supernatural healing and deliverance

Luke 10:1-2 1 After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. 2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

Acts 2:41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

Acts 2:46-47 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Acts 4:4 However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.

John 15:8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

B. Souls to be saved:

Jeremiah 8:20 “The harvest is past, The summer is ended, And we are not saved!”

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Isaiah 25:7-8 7 And He will destroy on this mountain The surface of the covering cast over all people, And the veil that is spread over all nations. 8  He will swallow up death forever, And the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces; The rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth;  For the LORD has spoken.

2 Corinthians 4:3- 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Luke 14:23 Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

C. Anointing and blessing on key events in the coming month so that through these events souls will be saved and added to the Church:

Zechariah 4:6-7 6 So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. 7 ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” ’ ”
