Our vision and emphasis for 2017

Our vision as a local Church is to be a growing citywide Christ-centred family church in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. We are committed to following Jesus and being His disciples.

Emphasis for 2017

2017 is a year to LEaP: Leadership, Evangelism and Power. Being fully aware that there is a clear overlap between the three, we will pursue our emphasis as follows:

  • Leadership
Empowering our members to be leaders by virtue of their pursuit of discipleship.  All members will be empowered and encouraged to share the gospel and pursue the discipleship of others through short Bible studies, mentoring those younger in the faith, and establishing cell groups across the city.

Matthew 5:14-16 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
  • Evangelism
Equipping our members for lifestyle evangelism, intentional outreach initiatives, bible studies, cell groups, church services and other evangelistically oriented events.

Matthew 4:18-20 18 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

John 4:34-38 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”
  • Power
Encouraging and equipping a commitment to holiness, purity, prayer, fasting, prophetic and healing ministry, faith building, and power evangelism.

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. 3 I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

1 Corinthians 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.  Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
